About the lock
The lock chamber of Ceske Vrbne allows ships with dimensions up to 44 x 5.6 m to overcome the seven-meter difference in water levels created by the weir of Ceske Vrbne and thus opens the possibility of sailing on the 8.9 km long section from Ceske Budejovice to Hluboka nad Vltavou.
The lock chamber has dimensions of 45 x 6 m and a depth of 3 m. The upper door is flap, the lower one-leaf door. The filling of the lock chamber with water is carried out by indirect filling by means of a one-sided bypass channel with a sluice. A natural water flow is used to fill the chamber, ie no pumping of water is required. The lock chamber is emptied directly by means of a tumbler in the lower gate, also using natural water flow.
At the entrance to the chamber are formed from both sides so-called locks formed by sheet walls. There are waiting places for vessels waiting to be flooded. While waiting, boats have the option to connect to electricity and get waterway information from a static map and a digital panel to view the news. The operation of the lock chamber is computer controlled from the control room. From there it is also possible to control other navigational and weir features including the entrance to the port. Communication between the vessel crew and the control room is carried out either by means of a shortwave radio or by an intercom located on waiting stands.
Sailing through the lock is free of charge for all vessel sizes. In case of floods, the chamber can be used as another weir field. The lower gate is open and the upper damper door is operated by the weir operator in the same way as weir damper. This increases the capacity of the water flow through the weir and reduces the risk of spillage of the river.

About the lock
The Hněvkovice waterworks, together with the Kořensko waterworks, were built between 1986 and 1991. Their main purpose is to provide technological water for the Temelín nuclear power plant. The original construction of the Hněvkovice waterworks contained only the rough construction of the lock chamber without the technological part. Between 2009 and 2010, the lock chamber, which is located on the right bank of the dam, was completed. It has a size of 45 x 6 m and a slope of 15 m, which ranks it second among the chambers of the Vltava cascade with the greatest depth. The chamber allows ships with a maximum size of 44 x 5.4 m and a lifting capacity of up to 300 tons to overcome the water works Hněvkovice.
Two piers on the right bank in the upper water before entering the lock chamber serve primarily as a waiting place for ships waiting to be crossed. Passenger ships can also use the pier closer to the chamber for passengers to get on and off. The distant pier is preferably intended for small vessels. There is also a drinking water connection and a waste water pumping facility.

About the dockyard
The Lanna's shipyard is designed for short-term boat trips, which will allow tourists to visit the nearby center of České Budějovice. The 60 m floating pier is anchored to the pillars so that it can withstand even 100 years of water. A great advantage of the floating pier is that there is still a constant difference between the surface and the pier, which means that passengers can get in and out at any water flow.
The dock is equipped with sampling columns for self-service power consumption and is divided into two positions. Position 1 is higher and is designed for passenger shipping. The state is primarily intended for the ascent and boarding of passengers. Position 2 is lower and is preferably used by small vessels. These can stand longer if the capacity of the stalls is not exhausted and at least 1 small vessel for landing and boarding is allowed to land.
The standard allowed standing time is 15 minutes.

About the dock
The port provides space for safe parking of 27 small vessels (13 lengths up to 12 m and 14 lengths up to 9 m) and min. 2 passenger ships at high water levels and out of sailing season. It provides facilities for the normal operation of ships and service center. In the port there is a captain's building, which houses the port administration and also houses a shower and toilet. All stalls are equipped with electricity and water connections in self-service consumption columns. There is also a slip for boats and crane with a lifting capacity of 10 t (after prior agreement with the port manager). In the service center it is possible to drain waste and bottled water and in the future a fuel station is also planned. The port also features a unique folding bridge that allows the operation of ships up to 5.25 m in height and land transport. By default, the bridge is lowered. It shall only be lifted when the ship passes over 2.9 m at the request of the crew through an intercom located at the lock chamber or at the port or port exit. telephone or VHF.

About the dock
The port allows the protection of vessels when stopping off-season, during floods, freezing or running ice. If capacity is not exhausted, each vessel shall be entitled to free protection in port.

Standing of boats
Standing in the area of the public dock in the part designated for passenger shipping is possible only for the time necessary for boarding and disembarking, however, max. 15 min. This part of the quay shall preferably be released for regular public passenger transport. The standing times of public passenger transport vessels shall be published at the port entrance. If the capacity of the dock is not exhausted, standing for a maximum of 3 hours is permitted for one passenger passenger vessel. This vessel is obliged to leave the dock immediately if necessary to land another passenger passenger vessel for boarding and boarding. Other vessels may only use the designated area for a maximum of 15 minutes, while the vessel must not restrict passenger vessels and the boatmaster must not leave the port area.
Berths are permitted for all vessels between 20:00 and 8:00. Parking in the section reserved for other vessels is possible for a maximum of 24 hours. After this period, vessels shall leave the port area for at least 2 hours.
About the dock
The port of Purkarec consists of a 50 m long floating pier used for mooring both passenger ships and small vessels. The sloping ramp will allow safe and barrier-free access and boarding for passengers. Access is provided by an asphalt road from the village green around the Church of St. George.
The dock is located on the left bank of the Vltava river in the km 217,337–217,387 in the Hněvkovice reservoir in the village of Purkarec next to the church of St. George and the morgue. Port security function
The dock can be used as a protective one when stopping navigation during the season from 1.4. to 31.10. The protected site allows for standing of vessels up to a maximum size of 45 x 5.60 m. The capacity of the protected site is defined by the maximum length of 60 m and two vessel widths up to a total width of 11.2 m. Coll. and smaller vessels, or several smaller vessels up to a total length of 60 m.
Before reaching the stopping limit (100 m3 / s on the České Budějovice water gauge), all boat operators (which cannot be anchored at the dock for capacity reasons) are obliged to remove the vessels from the dock area to another protection point or off the waterway. No vessel is entitled or reserved for use of the protective space.
The operator of any vessel that will stand at the dock when stopping navigation shall notify the operator in writing by e-mail, data box or letter, together with contact details of the operator and the person on call, including the telephone. The telephone must also be placed on the moored vessel so that it is legible from the pier. The person on call shall be accessible by telephone and shall ensure that the vessel operator can handle the vessel, if necessary, within 6 hours of the report. The dock operator is not liable for any damage caused by the moored vessel, the vessel operator is responsible for any damage caused by the vessel. Immediately after the end of the sailing period, the shipowner shall leave the quay.
The dock cannot be used during the off-season from 1.11. to 31.3. or when the level is below the minimum navigational level. The operator of the quay shall inform the notice board of this fact

About the dock
The Hněvkovice waterworks, together with the Kořensko waterworks, were built between 1986 and 1991. Their main purpose is to provide technological water for the Temelín nuclear power plant. The original construction of the Hněvkovice waterworks contained only the rough construction of the lock chamber without the technological part. Between 2009 and 2010, the lock chamber, which is located on the right bank of the dam, was completed. It has a size of 45 x 6 m and a slope of 15 m, which ranks it second among the chambers of the Vltava cascade with the greatest depth. The chamber allows ships with a maximum size of 44 x 5.4 m and a lifting capacity of up to 300 tons to overcome the water works Hněvkovice.
Two piers on the right bank in the upper water before entering the lock chamber serve primarily as a waiting place for ships waiting to be crossed. Passenger ships can also use the pier closer to the chamber for passengers to get on and off. The distant pier is preferably intended for small vessels. There is also a drinking water connection and a waste water pumping facility.

There is a waiting area in operation, where it is possible to use the electricity and water connection, pumping of faecal water and a sink for chemical toilets.

Standing in the waiting area for small vessels (closer to the lock) is allowed only while waiting for the passage.
